The South of A Street SOFA district welcomes new art – the Quail Gate!



Completed in Fall of 2021, Quail Gate was a collaborative mural effort in the SOFA (South of A Street) Art District in Santa Rosa. Many hands layered paint and ideas into this mural, including neighbors, artists, friends, and passers by.


The mural depicts the locally abundant and much beloved California Quail (Callipepla californica) and a trio of chicks. In the background, California Oat Grass (Danthonia californica, a native, perennial grass) rises overhead, backlit by a rising sun.
